Down in the dining hall, it is bustling with the competitors and visitors alike. I scan the area and make my way to where I see my family, Draven and his family. Gisella is in the corner speaking to the other contenders.

Draven drops his fork mid-bite and scrunches his nose a little like he’s holding his breath. I know I don’t smell bad, what gives? I walk towards them and I feel my chest jiggling and the ruby making its way down into my cleavage once again. I begin to fish it out and watch my betrothed eyeing my movements. His Adam's apple is clear to me as it bobs up and down slowly. I flash a smile and take my seat across the table from him.

“Good morning, betrothed. Did you sleep well last night?” I say, happy to see him.

“Indeed I did, and I woke up to a great treat this morning as well,” Draven says as his dragon eyes make their appearance. What’s got him on edge to have him shift like that?

“Excuse me, I think I’m full from my breakfast,” he says and takes a napkin to wipe off his mouth and beard. He takes the napkin along with him at his side and I don’t get why. Did he take food with him?
